The happiest Fridays are Book Club Fridays. Tonight, we will converse thoughtfully over our latest collection, and I will return to you, dear reader, with fresh insights from our members (that sounded good, didn’t it?).

Here’s what you missed this week:

• According to the New York Times, “[n]othing goes together quite like candles and reading.” Except until they don’t. Because you fell asleep while forcing yourself to enjoy In Search of Lost Time,  and your lavender candle does not play nicely with paperbacks. Or any paper, really.
• For all the New Year, New You-ers out there, this one is for you: the OG dieting book, with illustrations by the OG little rascal. It is worth the price of admission.
• Old is new again: how the Nancy Drew font made its way onto book covers, magazines, and ceramic pipes.
