My favorite brunch place on the East Side is reopening. Amazon is leaving Queens. Psych is getting a second made-for-TV movie. All in all, a banner week.
How does one cap off a week of wins? Happy hour, duh. One of my favorite spots to frequent, an unexpected mainstay of Tribeca, has the $7 Cab Sauv and truffle fries flowing well past the standard 6:30pm last call. The mellow rhythm of the cello in the jazz band that plays every Friday night doesn’t hurt. I’m going to sit here, savoring my red, pretending I’m classier than I am.
Here’s what you missed:
- If you liked Wednesday’s post, here’s some further reading. Because weren’t you looking for a love story between a man and liver?
- An illuminating history of romance novel covers, and why Fabio is kind of the worst, will not only set your heart aflutter, but also make you think of the power dynamics in cover design.
- I dare you to try any one of these literary pick up lines in a Willamsburg. Invite me too so I can watch what happens.
- Meet the man who is “the most literary person with carpentry experience since Jesus Christ. “
Cheers,
E
